Eco Schools
Eco-Schools are part of a national initiative which aims to promote sustainability of the environment. Girvan Academy’s Eco-School is run by a group of enthusiastic and dedicated students who are developing an action plan to improve the school’s environment and also the surrounding area.
Our Aims:
-
Recycle, re-use and reduce waste.
-
Improve the appearance of the school grounds by encouraging wildlife and reducing litter.
-
Improve the health and well being of the school by developing initiatives which promote mental and physical health.
-
Promote citizenship through selling of fair-trade goods.
Our Eco-Code
A rap created to Eminem’s song, “Not Afraid” :
I’m not afriad, to pick up litter.
From the street, so get on your feet.
We will save this world together, through the storm.
Whatever weather, cold or warm
Just let me know that, I’m not alone.
Holla if you want to save the world with me.
You shouldn’t throw away your paper before you recycle.
I shouldn’t have to tell you, you should already know to do it.
You think that being green, makes you a hippie.
We are eco-warriors in training!
