Coronavirus Updates

In light of the recent school closure due to the Coronavirus, the school will keep parent up-to-date with regular documents.

School Meals

Girvan Academy canteen offers a wide range of food including healthy snacks to sit down midday meals. Pupils have their own accounts, and money can be added to their account through ParentPay the Online School Payments system, if a pupil is entitled to a free meal the allowance will be added automatically. Pupils may also bring their own packed lunches into the canteen. The canteen is also open at morning break for snacks and drinks.

Please inform the canteen supervisor if you have any special dietary needs.

Pupil Absense Notification

How to get in touch to notify the school of an absence

The easiest way to get in touch if a student will be absent from school is to phone or email us. This should be done on the first day of absence. For further details about the South Ayrshire Council policy on absence and attendance, click here.

Careers Information

What's next for our students after school

Girvan Academy is visited by a Skills Development Scotland Careers Adviser throughout the year to help students find out what is next for them after school or in preparation for finding the right career.

Susan Wood is Girvan Academy careers advisor and be contacted via the details below. Through a combination of group sessions within guidance classes and assemblies and one-to-one interviews Susan will help to understand how the students’ personality, interests and values are key to making the right career decisions.
